Gentlemen's Sartorial

Gentlemen, let me present to you the near equivalent to The Outfit. It's a bit similar to what I do for the ladies. Instead of simply posting up different looks everyday, I will be sharing with you specific items along with their profiles. From full on 3-piece suits to sneakers, each item will be worth the mention and purchase. Look at it this way, it's Moody Vintage's 'item of the day'. I will be explaining how each item can be used and or even the label's background and availability.

To kick things off, here is a Paul Smith London Byard three piece suit. A gray suit is a fall essential. One thing to remember, your gray suit does not necessarily have to be a three piece. In fact, it doesn't even have to be this exact shade of gray.
This is a simple two-button (most common in suits) suit jacket. The jacket (as you can see) has two flap pockets, a chest pocket and single vent. The vest (waistcoat) is a six-button with four pockets. The pants are a fine cut and simple half-lined trousers.
One important thing to note is that Paul Smith is a British label, which means the suits are of British cut. I will be discussing the different cuts in a suit (Italian, British, French, American, etc) in a future post over at LWIS. Sir Paul Smith (the designer) makes it very clear of his attention to detail and that's why I have decided to go with one of his suits. Personally, I am more of an Italian style man, but Paul Smith is up there in the elite when it comes to men's suits.

The Layer

Gentlemen, this season there is a certain item of clothing that needs to have some space in your closet. It is a must-have for the upcoming colder months. In fact, if there is one warm layer article of clothing you have to get, make it a pea coat. The reason for this is that a pea coat can be versatile (mainly in black or blue), it can go with pretty much anything you want to wear. Not only that, the pea coat's longevity has already been proven - make sure it's a quality purchase. You can purchase this style of coat and have it last for years, you don't have to worry about new seasons if you are only aiming to buy only one coat. I've put up some very stylish and worth the purchase pea coats.

The Outfit 26

Something straight out of the Upper East Side? I've done it again this time. Instead of just one, here's two looks to pull off. Here's a little preppy flavor along with some glamor. Just a slight reminder, ladies, the purpose of The Outfit is to inspire you to pull off a similar look. You do not, I repeat, you do not need to purchase these exact items to take on each look.

The Outfit 24

A purely lovable and fun look for this one. In fact, it won't be too hard to figure out where exactly to wear this outfit. Honestly, there's nothing serious about this at all besides it being chic so all you really need to do with this number is put on a smile.

The Outfit 23

This little number had only one contrasting color that makes a statement. The actual effect was from the young lady wearing this outfit, she had fair skin and blonde hair. She kept the make-up very minimal, was careful not to take away from her natural beauty and contrasting the black to her very fair skin color.

The Outfit 22

A shot straight from Rodeo Drive, which made me miss California way too much today. It is a tad Hollywood but, by no means, plastic or fake. Again, this is a look that should be worn with attitude - confidence not arrogance.

Madewell super
Swarovski dance necklace
Gareth Pugh blazer
Alice + Olivia draped jersey scarf dress
MICHAEL Michael Kors
Salvatore Ferragamo Candis
All you need now is some fierce make-up (not scary) with that Hollywood-style swagger and you are good to go. While you are at it, practice your winking ;-)
