The Outfit 92: Red Carpet

Today I present to you, ladies, three different evening outfits. The awards season is halfway done so I thought why not dedicate a post to the red carpet. I love awards season because I consider myself a big film and television buff. Some say, I'm an addict. I say, I love to be entertained. Simple. The red carpet brings the two loves of my life together in one place. The entertainment industry and fashion come together to put on their own show on the red carpet. I absolutely love it, just like I love these three outfits. This isn't strictly for red carpet use, obviously. These are appropriate for any evening event that calls for this dress code. Warning: There's a tank full of glamour in these looks. It's Hollywood so there is no room to be timid and shy.

  • Option 1: I'm not a huge fan of red on the red carpet but this dress is simply beautiful and has that fantastic vintage taste.
Sophie Theallet double-crepe satin gown
Giuseppe Zanotti jeweled snake sandal
Christian Louboutin - Mini loubi lula satin croissant clutch
Tahitian black pearl necklace
T Tahari earrings - faceted red crystal
  •  Option 2: It was one Marchesa dress after another at the most recent red carpet from the Screen Actors Guild Awards. I couldn't pass up the chance to 'work' with a Marchesa dress here.
Marchesa embellished silk-chiffon gown
Christian Louboutin - So F...100
Bottega Veneta - Intrecciato satin knot clutch
Lauren by Ralph Lauren bracelet
Leger gunmetal fan drop earrings
  •  Option 3: I'm not sure how many times I've talked about how timeless and elegant it is to wear black and white. It is the true essence of elegance. The ultimate form of sophistication. Black and or white will never go out of style - it's eternal.
Amanda Wakeley - Bead-trimmed silk-cady one shoulder
Manolo Blahnik - Swan embellished satin pump
Sondra Roberts beaded minaudiere
14k white gold earrings, blue topaz
Max & Chloe - Dove's jewelry
Alexis Bittar 'Miss Havisham - Aster' bracelet

The Outfit 91: Envy

This is a very simple and solid look that can be used throughout the day. There is plenty of green here, although the dark tone saves it from being an eye sore.

The Outfit 90: A Bridge Stroll

A couple of lovely shots of a young lady on a bridge inspires today's outfit. It's another fantastic layering job by this street chic individual.
Just a side note: If a link to a specific product is broken, you can simply find them through 'search engines' like Google. For some odd reason, the links have not been cooperating as of late. Not to fret, there is always Google, if you really feel the urge to splurge. But remember ladies, it's about the overall look.

The Outfit 89: Gossip Girl

A couple of looks I thought of while watching the most recent episode of Gossip Girl. Yes, I watch it. It's my guilty pleasure. I really only watch the show for two major reasons: 1. I am a fan of Leighton Meester's, as she portrays Blaire Waldorf. 2. The fashion, from the arrogant chic Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) to pretty much everything both Blaire and Sarena (Blake Lively) wear in every episode. And, OK, fine...I'll admit, I always want to know what will happen next.

Gentlemen's Sartorial 17

It's a look I saw during a rooftop party in 'Old Town' Dhaka a couple of weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised to see this young man giving me competition in the style department. He was head-to-toe chic, from his frames to his loafers. It wasn't just the color coordination and the sophistication, every thing fit...I mean fit. Trousers length was spot on and sweater with shirt left no space for mistakes. And yes, I even spotted his socks. Here is a similar outfit he was sporting for the evening with a couple of added touches by me. I gave him his props and I'm sure you will be applauded as well if you pulled this off. It's simple and classy. This, gentlemen, is major swagger (not swag).
