  • Soon after, I got myself in a somewhat complicated situation. Yikes, this was back in the 6th grade. Imagine what "complicated" meant back then. Nonsense. Anyway, this petite Mexican cutie would always show up to school with either shorts or skirts. I don't think I've ever seen her wearing bottoms past her knees. I'm sure she had but I was use to seeing her with shorter hemlines. Come to think of it, her hair was always above her shoulders. I never complained. With killer dimples, Lorena had developed a flirtatious bond with me. The thing is, after quite some time, I realized she might have been using me to get my best friend jealous. Why you ask? Because my best friend had chosen to go out with her friend rather than her. Again, I wasn't complaining. In the process, it couldn't be helped. I crushed on her hard, not knowing her little hidden agenda.
A year after, when we entered Jr. High (or middle school for some), she became distant. Maybe because her older brother went to the same school so she had to make sure we weren't as close. Fair enough. The 7th grade was the beginning of a much bigger crush, but we'll get to that later.

This one is very easy. Recently, one of my muses posted up a photo of her without a single ounce of makeup. It was a natural beauty shot and this woman is absolutely gorgeous. Hayley is one of the most beautiful women I know, and I know a lot of beautiful women. It's a privilege to have her in my life and to call her one of my very good friends, so here's a look inspired by her. This one is a tad effortless, comfortable and really just easy going. There's a natural flow, which happens to be the theme this time around.

Okay so life happened. It's been much too long since the last post. I try not making this blog about me and more about the wonderful ensembles. It's about the women who inspire me. It's about the gentlemen I want to help. I know it's been several months. If I had a wife, she would have given birth to our first child by now.

Being a full time fashion/tech journalist in Dhaka has taken up most of my time. My day job, if you will, keeps me in check. Seems like most of my focus, 75% of it, is all in my work. That's wrong, it shouldn't be like that. Last night, as I was sitting in my place of serenity, I realized I was neglecting the one thing that got me started. This. This style blog of mine. If I am able to spend my off hours watching films (my first love and passion) and TV shows, why wouldn't I be able to take 15 minutes putting together a look for all of you?

It's what I do best, and I've always wanted to share that with the rest of the world. Mind you, this is only a taste of what I do. I'd prefer to work with individuals in person, of course. No apologies this time though. I don't feel I need to. Most of you would understand, most of you don't even care. You're here for one thing and one thing only. These looks and the stories behind them. Well, hello world. I'm back.

Today's look is about a woman I know that takes life with a certain sexy, kick-ass attitude. In Arabic, her name means "morning". In Hebrew, "oath" or "promise." She happens to be one hell of a woman. I thought it would be appropriate to make my first post, after a long wait, with her in mind. I'd like to think we have a special connection. It's like two Apple devices in sync; we just click and reminisce about the 90s. Then, there's the regular sniffing each other's necks because we're intoxicated with one another's fragrances like two in-heat animals. Was that too much? Yeah. It was. Anyway, yes, it's winter but the sun tends to creep in from time to time. And here is what is produced.

I can't begin to tell you why I have been apart from this blog. Work has, to sum it up, taken most of my time and fasting in the process doesn't help either. I have let work take away what I enjoy most. To be here, with you all, one outfit after another. Sure, I'm gaining plenty of experience in the publishing world. But I have to keep reminding myself what I enjoy most: styling. I'm a creative and I love to have time for it, don't like rushing things. With so many other things going on, it's time for a breather. I'm sorry I've been away for so long. Time has changed, but I haven't. Well, at least on this platform. It's good to be back.

Today's look is inspired by a good friend of mine. It's refreshing to see her in brighter colours and with a smile. She's my Black Rose of Highgarden, she tends to have a darker tone for her looks. I love her regardless, but love her even more because of her ability to break out of the mould. She won't agree with me but I love her in these kinds of looks as well as the sultry ones. It helps when you have a chic state of mind.

Saw a friend of mine a while back layering leather in her own style. At the time, I paid no attention, up until today. Reminding myself of how adorable she looked, I gathered one item after another in my mind trying to re-create her image that day.
