  • Gentlemen, let me start off by saying that you don't have to look or dress like me in order to be "cool". I am no trendsetter, but I do take pride in how I look. It is who I am. I say this because today's post is a look I sported recently for a birthday party. What I wear might not look good on you or may not suit your personal style. And that is perfectly fine! Again, GS should only be a source of inspiration. It's the same I do for the ladies. An outfit is presented, and you are free to play off of it. Here's a similar look to what I wore for the party with a few additions, apart from the scarf. In fact, what I was wearing is set to my profile picture on my personal Facebook account. You can always take a gander at my Instagram (look for the icon at the top of this page) to see what I was wearing.
I would also like to add, it's good to be back. Here's to a very stylish 2014.

This one brought a little excitement. My colleague and friend, Sabah (who I like to affectionately call Sabeezy), will be off to a friend's beach wedding abroad in a couple of months. Now, she was already the inspiration for The Outfit 256. This time, of course, gave me an idea for the occasion. I'm sure most of you are begging for Spring to roll in. Another reason I was looking forward to putting this together is because I love outfits with dresses; they've always been my favorite.

There are two looks here. One for the wedding, the other, to let loose and enjoy the beach.

I've always been a fan of the trench coat. As the cold winds have picked up in the city, it was only natural for me to think of this look. I go to and from work on a rickshaw as my main transportation so it's interesting to see what others are wearing, when the winds of winter (God, I hope Martin finishes that damn book) come in full force. The daytime is pretty warm here in Dhaka. When evening settles in, the slight chill creeps in from place to place.
In any case, it's a proper winter in many other places in the world so here's an outfit you might want to try on next time you head out to face the cold. This look is quite comfortable and has the right amount of warmth, it's much softer than the last one.

There are a couple of colleagues of mine who sport more blazers and sport coats than anyone else on the floor. They may not wear it every day but when they do, they look every bit of that "boss lady" image. A confident and commanding presence doesn't always have to be intimidating. It can also be inspiring and showered with admiration. More importantly, with figures to boast, it's always sexy to see a woman in control.

Okay so life happened. It's been much too long since the last post. I try not making this blog about me and more about the wonderful ensembles. It's about the women who inspire me. It's about the gentlemen I want to help. I know it's been several months. If I had a wife, she would have given birth to our first child by now.

Being a full time fashion/tech journalist in Dhaka has taken up most of my time. My day job, if you will, keeps me in check. Seems like most of my focus, 75% of it, is all in my work. That's wrong, it shouldn't be like that. Last night, as I was sitting in my place of serenity, I realized I was neglecting the one thing that got me started. This. This style blog of mine. If I am able to spend my off hours watching films (my first love and passion) and TV shows, why wouldn't I be able to take 15 minutes putting together a look for all of you?

It's what I do best, and I've always wanted to share that with the rest of the world. Mind you, this is only a taste of what I do. I'd prefer to work with individuals in person, of course. No apologies this time though. I don't feel I need to. Most of you would understand, most of you don't even care. You're here for one thing and one thing only. These looks and the stories behind them. Well, hello world. I'm back.

Today's look is about a woman I know that takes life with a certain sexy, kick-ass attitude. In Arabic, her name means "morning". In Hebrew, "oath" or "promise." She happens to be one hell of a woman. I thought it would be appropriate to make my first post, after a long wait, with her in mind. I'd like to think we have a special connection. It's like two Apple devices in sync; we just click and reminisce about the 90s. Then, there's the regular sniffing each other's necks because we're intoxicated with one another's fragrances like two in-heat animals. Was that too much? Yeah. It was. Anyway, yes, it's winter but the sun tends to creep in from time to time. And here is what is produced.
