I was sort of a 'late bloomer', I guess you could say. When I was younger I was never the kid that said, "I wanna be this or that when I grow up." Without realizing it, I took it one day at a time, never stressing over the future. The realization came later...I was into entertainment, anything that brought joy to people. I knew I was a creative individual, I just never honed by skills on a specific field. The second realization came around when a very high percentage of my friends came to me for advice on pretty much anything. One thing I really enjoyed was making people genuinely smile and genuinely happy. I was the guy everyone came to, the one everyone trusted. That's when it clicked for me later on, when I entered my early to mid 20s. I had a fancy for fashion, this is when style came into play. Soon enough, more and more people (mostly women) came to me for fashion advice. How this dress would look with these shoes or this hairdo with these earrings. This was the third and final realization, I finally knew what I should be doing. More importantly, it's what I wanted to do.
One thing to make very clear is that the clothes on your back is the last thing one should worry about when it comes to style. I always tell people who I end up helping and style, that it's all about the individual.
What Is Style?
Style is your personality, your attitude, your swagger, the way you walk, talk, the music you listen to, the films you watch, the books you read, and so on. It's the way you live your life. It's in almost everything you do. Style is in everything. Style is you.
That's why I live and teach by my "3S Effect" formula. There are three layers. The last layer being more of the core, the source of the overall style.
The first layer, SEXY. It's the aesthetics. It's what comes off right away, what catches your eye. From the clothes to the facial features, sexy is an ambiguous term so anything can be a turn on or turn off to different people. It's whatever comes off as attractive and the way you appreciate beauty. It's the first thing that provokes your emotions.
The second layer, SOPHISTICATED. It's the sophistication, the elegance, it's class. This layer goes to the next level, this layer is an intellectual pursuit. It's how you present yourself to the rest of the world. You should, properly, present yourself with class, regardless the occasion. It's a bit deeper then being sexy, it's the portrayal of sensuality. It's the first whiff of seduction.
Finally, the third layer, SUAVE. Your smooth nature. This is the most important of them all. This part of the formula comes from the confidence, it's the self-belief. Without confidence, the rest does not apply. You have to be comfortable in your own skin, you have to believe in yourself. Gracefully walking through a room should come effortless, it should be enough to resonate that confidence throughout the room without any hints of arrogance. It's making a statement without speaking a single word. The goal here is to have everyone assume (rightfully so) that you have everything in control so they can say he or she knows what he or she is doing.
Inspiration
Everything the world has to offer.
I've always had a deep appreciation for design, from architecture to the alluring design of a sports car to the natural design of a coastal town somewhere near the Mediterranean. My passion for the world is what really drives me. Seeing people smile and genuinely happy makes my day. It's the reason I continue to do what I do. It's the deep appreciation of history and how we change the present for the future.
There is a balance to everything. I like to be part of the good balance in the world. I have an amazing ability that's been given to me and I tend to share it with the world, I have an infinite amount of it. It's down to love, really. It's down to the love for the world. Love for the people, and love what I do. Why wouldn't I want to share that?
