  • I wanted to keep the Autumn/Winter preparation going. I've chosen some of my favorites from the coats section of a man's wardrobe. When you think of trench coats, I hope, you think of Burberry. But trench coats, over coats, and pea coats go beyond Burberry. I won't lie, in my personal opinion, Burberry (Thomas Burberry, in 1901, the originator of the gaberdine fabric trench coat) does it the best. Christopher Bailey (Chief Creative Officer of Burberry) let it be known, in a short video on MRPORTER.com, how he likes to wear his trench coats; he wears the coats open with the belt tied behind him. There aren't really too many ways you can actually wear a coat. Once it's on you, it just adds a little touch of class even if you are wearing it over a regular t-shirt. How to keep it stylish always depends on the style of the coat and its fabrics. We won't get into that now, but I will share with you all are some beautiful trench, pea, and over coats from Burberry and others.

Paul Smith navy cotton pea coat
    J.Crew Holborn trench coat
Rick Owens fold over collar coat
    Gucci wool pea coat
    Etro wool-blend coat
Burberry Prorsum leather trimmed pea coat
    Burberry London packaway trench coat
Burberry Prorsum fur collar wool coat
    Burberry Brit britton showerproof trench
    Burberry London britton short double-breasted
Just as you would fit yourself properly in a suit jacket or blazer, you would do the same here except for the obvious - fit into a coat a size larger than your suit jacket or blazer. This would mostly apply to over coats and particular trench coats. Remember, the cool thing about pea coats and trench coats, specifically, is that you can wear them dressed-down or dressed-up. As long as the weather calls for it, don't be shy to get different styles of coats for different occasions in both casual and formal. Another note, gentlemen, all the items you see here (like any other post) are samples of fashion that are in trend. This doesn't mean you have to go out of your way to hurt your wallet to get the right coat. Sure, quality is very important, but it has never been about the labels. If you have the currency, then go ahead and do what you have to do. For the other gentlemen that wish to make an investment, make sure the fit is right and try picturing using that specific coat with different outfits, regardless of how much it shows on the price tag.

I believe I have been to at least three weddings, every single year for the past six years. That is not an exaggeration. When you live in South Asia, it's very normal to be attending so many weddings. It's not just the weddings, there's everything prior to all that. The entire week is in somewhat a celebratory mood from both families. This, obviously, depends on how big they want the wedding. The many rituals and traditions I can do without. In fact, I am completely turned off by it.
The more favorable time in that entire week is the many occasions to show your best stuff. The best is saved for last - the wedding itself. This is the similar outfit I will be wearing this Friday. Two things to keep in mind: 1. Humid weather 2. Lighter the better. Click on the image captions for more details.
Ralph Lauren Black Label bond cotton dress shirt
Topman gray sharkskin spencer vest (waistcoat)
    Express navy narrow silk tie
Richard James straight leg wool blend
John Lobb - City II Leather Oxford (cap-toes)
A nice simple and elegant wristwatch (black leather band) to go along with it and you have my entire look for the upcoming wedding. Remember one of the many important rules when dressing up for a wedding, always make sure what the dress code actually is. If you are not sure, please do call and ask after you have received your invitation. Even if the dress code is mentioned, don't take the risk if you are not 100% sure. Here's a bit extra from MR PORTER putting down a few things to check off your list: Wedding Looks.

Remember, back in the day, during the summer it was only you and the sun? The days where (without any real responsibility) the heat would slap our necks and make us reach for that cool drink in the fridge. What about this summer? Showers. Tornadoes. Volcanoes erupting and canceled flights. We start to wonder if what we have on now will suffice for the rest of the day.
Who would have thought we'd all be dealing with summer rain? As the stylish folks we are, we always want to look our best. That goes down to even what type of umbrella we are sporting on the day. This one is about, well, umbrellas. You want to go all out and have fun doing so. Here are some stylish and quality umbrellas for you to sport next time you step out the door to welcome the bizarre strings of rain in the summer. These are style picks from MR PORTER, one of my favorite online shopping sites.
    Brooks Brothers checked umbrella
    Brooks Brothers foldable umbrella
    Swaine Adeney Brigg golfing umbrella
    Gucci compact umbrella
Swaine Adeney Brigg collapsible travel umbrella
Yes, even umbrellas can add a desirable flavor to your style.
