  • I'm sure the cast of Heroes would appreciate that title. But unfortunately, this isn't a story of my soiree with the now pregnant Hayden Panettiere. This is about a cheerleader I crushed hard on back in the 7th grade. Apart from my celeb crush on Tyra Banks, before she went cray-cray, this crush lasted nearly three bloody years! Not sure if it was the soft curls, hypnotizing smile and dimples, or the incredibly proportional body. And her personality? Perky would be an understatement. She was, and possibly still is, an intelligent ball of positivity. And I felt that loving vibe from the moment we met. She thought I was the cutest, hugged me like no other. It wasn't just a hug, it was a 'squeeze the crap out of you' bear embrace.
But here's another pretty gal that favoured more skirts and shorts; although, I do remember her in trousers on many occasions. In my opinion, she did the skirt game the best. Those legs. Killer. She was athletic after all.
It's good to know we keep in touch from time to time. It's also good to see her with a successful business and being a newlywed. Hats off, love. Wish nothing but the best for you.

The trouble with love is...no matter how hard you try to make her realize she deserves better, she won't believe in it herself. There's always a fear or a cowardly excuse from embracing true love. Sweetheart, it's about setting yourself free; it's about accepting the truth. Give it a chance, that's all you need.
A little bit of an influence from N Sync's "Girlfriend" music video and a little bit of actual life in this outfit.

Earlier in the week, I attended our company's one year anniversary shindig. As usual, I had to get my suit made. It's an addiction, I know. But it's a good one. The gathering itself was, well, a tad boring. What happened afterward is what made the rest of the evening a fantastic ride. Although, there is one thing I would love to share with you all. It may seem strange but I am most comfortable when I'm in one of my suits. Two-piece or three-piece, doesn't matter. It's my body of armour, I feel like a freakin' superhero in it.
What did I wear? Well, if you don't follow my Instagram (click here), today's post is something similar to the outfit from Tuesday evening.

Okay. I finally did it. For the longest time, I chose to avoid doing a look inspired by her. I, honestly, felt that I would do her no justice. To me, she was simply off-limits. But it finally came to me. I didn't want it to go over the top, but I wanted to keep it sophisticated. She is, as I have mentioned so many times before, the crutch in my life. A very important woman who I always aim to make proud. I would be lost without her, no exaggeration. It really is nice to see her almost everyday at work; I take pride in knowing I work with her, even though we're in different departments.
No charming speech this time around, there are no words I have that would truly express how much she means to me and how big of an influence she is in my life. She is my Athena, my Lady of Light, my Galadriel. I know it's geek status but that's the only comparison I can make in this world.
