  • As a former Express employee (as a sales associate) back in California, I have been impressed lately of their style evolution. I'm not saying this because I'm bias, but because I have always loved Express' style. Recently, I have noticed their improvements, especially in the women's section. I'm not sure about other former employees or current ones, but I always felt super comfortable working and shopping there.
With the autumn collection upon us, I wanted to show the ladies some really outstanding outfits from Express. Unfortunately, Express is a domestic company based in the U.S. This doesn't mean the particular outfits cannot be mimicked, you have all the necessary skills of going out and shopping for similar styles to the ones shown on this specific post. Keep your eyes open and check out the details in the outfits.

    One-shoulder ruffle dress
There are plenty of new looks and items still to come in Express. These have only been a few of the ones of new arrivals as you can browse more on their website. Remember, ladies, my favorite season is right around the corner and I'm sure, it's your favorite as well so get ready to add to your closet!

After a very long and unfavorable weekend, it's good to begin a new week. Although, the highlight of the weekend had to be, my favorite baseball player of all time, Derek Jeter hitting 3,000 - the first Yankee to achieve the record.
This got me to thinking if I had ever gotten the chance to actually watch DJ and the Yankees play, there would be a specific outfit I would sport. The most obvious choice would be a Yankees jersey, but that wouldn't set me or anyone apart from the rest of the crowd watching 9 innings of America's pastime. This would go under the summer essentials the next time you head to the ballpark - any outdoor team-sport venue that is.
One thing to keep in mind, the extra effort goes to you color coordination. Instead of wearing the logo of the team you support on your shirts (or jerseys), try incorporating the team colors into your outfit instead. Not only will you look stylish, you will be supporting your home team's colors.

Assuming the game is under warm weather with a lady friend:

Marc by Marc Jacobs contrast button shirt
J.Crew Slim Leg 484 Selvedge jeans
    Lanvin Denim and Leather sneakers
And for the young lady accompanying me to the game:
    G by Guess Lagria
    Elliot The Skinny Jean
    Express Embellished Striped Tank
New York Yankees Womens 59Fifty fitted cap
Now, ladies, I would have added shades to this but I would rather see those beautiful eyes. Regardless the venue and team, the colors do not have to be the exact match of the uniforms. You should know you're safe as long as you keep the shades similar to those of which worn by the players on the field. Gentlemen, it is summer after all so it's perfectly fine rolling up those sleeves and going sockless with those fresh kicks. Just make sure your feet doesn't stink. Seriously. Have fun at the ballpark and keep it stylish.

I believe I have been to at least three weddings, every single year for the past six years. That is not an exaggeration. When you live in South Asia, it's very normal to be attending so many weddings. It's not just the weddings, there's everything prior to all that. The entire week is in somewhat a celebratory mood from both families. This, obviously, depends on how big they want the wedding. The many rituals and traditions I can do without. In fact, I am completely turned off by it.
The more favorable time in that entire week is the many occasions to show your best stuff. The best is saved for last - the wedding itself. This is the similar outfit I will be wearing this Friday. Two things to keep in mind: 1. Humid weather 2. Lighter the better. Click on the image captions for more details.
Ralph Lauren Black Label bond cotton dress shirt
Topman gray sharkskin spencer vest (waistcoat)
    Express navy narrow silk tie
Richard James straight leg wool blend
John Lobb - City II Leather Oxford (cap-toes)
A nice simple and elegant wristwatch (black leather band) to go along with it and you have my entire look for the upcoming wedding. Remember one of the many important rules when dressing up for a wedding, always make sure what the dress code actually is. If you are not sure, please do call and ask after you have received your invitation. Even if the dress code is mentioned, don't take the risk if you are not 100% sure. Here's a bit extra from MR PORTER putting down a few things to check off your list: Wedding Looks.

There was a period of time where I slept peacefully. For a while, 8 hours of sleep (without interruption) was pure bliss. That period of time is now over. Recently, my sleep has been broken from time to time. I'm not really sure what exactly is robbing me from 7 to 8 consecutive hours of sleep. In any case, I've been having these very strange, very bizarre, dreams. Some are played out in a very symbolic way, others just seem to play out a theme from Willy Wonka. They make no sense, whatsoever.
Last night, I had one of those many strange dreams. This was simple and straight to the point with a surprising end. I saw myself running around Paris trying to find the love of my life. She's not make-belief, she actually exists. In the course of that journey, I ran into Mr. Johnny Depp. Yes, the actor. I guess Johnny was taking some time off from his beautiful French wife and their children. Made no sense, really. Why am I sharing this dream with you? I caught faint glimpses of what I was wearing in my dream. The dream inspired me for a new look, or at least a look that I would have had if the dream became a reality. If it were to actually happen, where I was spending an evening in Paris running around to find the love of my life. There is a meaning and a story behind these looks. Some make perfect sense, others just serves a purpose for inspiration.
Here is what I thought I was wearing in my night in Paris. Remember, it's the look not the exact actual items. Click the image captions for more info.
Maison Martin Margiela classic cashmere cardigan
POLO Ralph Lauren custom fit pique
Express slim fit straight leg Rocco Jean
    CoSTUME NATIONAL
And I'm quite sure I had these in my pockets...
Maison Martin Margiela Suede and  Patent Leather wallet
Just kidding. Although, I'm sure I would have had this in my pocket.
PS by Paul Smith Gingham handkerchief
I always, I mean always, carry a handkerchief with me every time I step out.

I am loving these new dreams. When I say every thing in this world inspires me, I wasn't kidding. Even in my unconscious state, these beautiful styles of outfits present themselves.
