  • I tried avoiding it as much as I could. I still love winter but that usually means people get sick. When you live under one roof with more than 6 members in the family, you're bound to get hit. I've been struggling with my health for the past couple of days, which got me thinking. What would a young woman, who is a little under the weather, wear on a regular day out? You know, times when you just aren't feeling it. It's very difficult to look sexy or attractive when you obviously don't feel sexy or attractive. I thought of this look. Is it sexy? Could be. Is it comfortable? Yes. Is it chic? Definitely.

I told you we would be having a few more hiccups along the way. Good ones at that. The red carpet for the SAG Awards was actually livelier than the Golden Globes believe it or not. Rightfully so because it was all about the actors on this show.
Well, here you have it, my favorite ladies for the evening on the SAG Awards red carpet. One beauty after another. There was plenty of navy and shades of blue on the carpet this time around. And of course, that happens to be my favorite color so it was a pure delight for me. How adorable was Kiernan Shipka from Mad Men? She was a pleasant surprise. Julianna Margulies looked incredible, just beautiful. My favorite of the them all has to be Marion Cotillard. The classical beauty did it again on my top fav list and now, I faint.

Anne Hathaway in Giambattista Valli couture
    Jennifer Lawrence in Dior couture
    Marion Cotillard in Dior couture
    Nicole Kidman in Vivienne Westwood
    Amanda Seyfried in Zac Posen
    Julianne Moore in Chanel couture
    Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen
Kiernan Shipka in Oscar de la Renta (just adorable)
    Kerry Washington in Rodarte
Julianna Margulies in Chado Ralph Rucci

Here's part 2 of my favorite looks from the couture collections. If you've missed my part 1, click here. I still recommend all of you to view the entire collection under each fashion house. I would also like to state that the Jean Paul Gaultier collection was spectacular mainly because of its influences. You'll see what I'm talking about.

I was really struggling with myself about this one. I tried avoiding simply because it's, well, couture. It's about  a collection that seem to be unattainable to the general public. It's for the 'elite'. It's obviously not everyday wear for you ladies. But then I thought to myself, these collections are pieces of art. Honest labor goes into making these pieces of art. This has to do with style like everything else. The main focus of this blog is to serve as an inspiration. It's not just styling tips for both men and women or my view of what's chic. These are things that appeal to me as a stylist, more importantly, as a person who deeply appreciates art and design or anything that has to do with style. And I believe this deserves to be shown and shared.
Another difficulty was there are so many beautiful and stunning looks from each collection that it's hard to narrow things down to a 'Top 3' or even a 'Top 5'. For example, this year's Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad collections are breathtaking. I am in love with both collections. Every look! In other words, even though I have only chosen a select few for this post, doesn't necessarily mean they are my absolute favorites nor are they in any particular order. I recommend all of you two view the entire collection of both so you know exactly why I'm in love with them. With the exception of those two, the rest I can say is fair game. I can say they are my favorites from the lot.
What I have decided to do is to present this in three parts. Here is part 1.
