I believe this outfit is quite appropriate for the summer days, perhaps a stroll shore side. In some areas in the world, it's scorching hot and breaking heat records as the days go by. Regardless, it's hot and you want to stay as cool as possible with minimal layers to survive the heat. Minimal, of course, doesn't mean parading around in your bikini all day. Even if that were possible (say you had a beach side home), it's very unhealthy to be out there in the sun for long periods of time. In other words, stay shaded, wear lighter fabrics, and keep as cool as possible.
