  • Look #2 is inspired by my second crush. It was my first school crush. No, it wasn't a classmate, it was a teacher. I was unfortunate to find myself in the 5th grade without my best friends; they were assigned to a different classroom next door. However, the first day of school totally made up for it. There she was, the Norwegian goddess - Idunn. The prettiest and the youngest teacher of the lot. And she was Nordic completely, stereotypical features of a girl from up north. I believe she was in her early to mid 20s boasting her teaching credentials.
Idunn (not her real name, of course) was vibrant and always eager to help her kids. It didn't take me too long to try to get on her good side. There was once this social studies trivia competition for all the fifth-graders at school. She went around, one desk after another, asking us random questions to answer. In one particular question, which fell upon me to face, caught her off guard. What I mean is she wasn't expecting me to answer the question correctly. I was a geography nut in my youth so confidence was not lacking. She asked what the capital of Norway was. I answered Oslo, to her amazement she paused. Then, she followed up with the smile and said, "I'm impressed." I had won her over that day. I wish you could see me smirk right now.

We're closing things off here with part 4 of my favorite looks from Milan Fashion Week in menswear. The time goes by pretty quick, can't believe it's already over. Not to worry, Paris is next. Although, I have a deep and strong connection with everything Italian so it's a bigger bummer for me now that it's over. Well, let's wrap things up. I also wanted to express how super cool I thought it was for Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared² to have all black models for their show. It made the collection stand out even more. Loved it! Yes, I just gave a couple of Canadians credit. My favorite designer, Giorgio Armani, delivered again (as usual). Overall, another great Milan Fashion Week. Autumn 13/Winter 14 looks good to go.

I felt like putting together something with denim in it. It's been a while so here we have it. I have to say it was difficult choosing a tank top for this look because there are so many of them that this works with.

It's the final day of Milan Fashion Week in menswear. Wrapping things up here with part 4 of my favorite looks from the collection. The day started out a bit interesting with Dean and Dan of Dsquared² deciding to go completely different from the rest of the collections we've seen so far. In fact, they went complete unorthodox from their own style as we see only one loud color in the entire collection. Plenty of black in this collection, a darker tone from what they usually have. And usually, it's all about the colors when it comes to this label. Personally, I liked this change, different from the rest and from themselves. Giorgio Armani followed and well, we all know Armani - nothing but the best and my favorite collection of the day. One thing that was clearly noticeable in this Armani collection is how much sprezzatura is in it. The incredible ease in the cuts are so pleasing to the eye, very relaxing. It still has that gentleman elegance in the recipe but the relaxed look to each made it more alluring.

I've provided the link to the Marc Jacobs collection (not on the runway) here: Spring/Summer 13. I have to say it's my favorite menswear collection from Marc Jacobs so far. Well, people, that pretty much wraps things up for Milan Fashion Week with Paris up next! (from June 27th).
