  • I haven't been able to update this blog as I would like to. I have been caught up with someone's wedding and so on. It's kind of like a family thing, well, it is a family thing. Honestly, I am fed up. The whole suiting up was fun but that can only stretch so far. An entire week of that nonsense, I'm sorry. I'm done. The final week of the year has come around. I hope all of you had or are having a smooth holiday break. For those still working around this time, hope it's a little easier for you as the holidays pass by.
Back to work. I couldn't help but to turn on my 'fashion police' alarm in my head at the reception. A couple of young lads attempted to look as sharp as we did at the wedding (couple of nights before the reception) and failed horribly. One misguided gentleman was wearing a complete suit with a bow tie. I cried bloody foul. Not only that, the width of the kid's bow ties was as wide as his entire jaw. I'm also sure he didn't tie that bow on his own. This young man was actually a lackey for another - a henchman. His boss wasn't as bad but still made plenty of mistakes. The tie was too loose for my liking, in fact, too loose for anyone with some common fashion sense. The young man's shoes were, for the lack of a better word, insulting. It was like some fusion of a hiking boot and dress boots. It just made me want to throw up. I also noticed his dress shirt looked too familiar to those uniforms kids wear in a school or an academy. They attempted to keep up with us (my cousins and I) but failed horribly. What more is there to say? Let the real men take the stage, you kids can play in the back.
I, honestly, hoped I could have helped them.

Time to get back to business, ladies. Here is another look to have. It's all about the essential winter white jacket. From top to bottom here we go (taken from Style.com):
    1. Style your hair with Rahua Hair Spray
    2. Keep it simple in the accessories department with an elegant ring.
     3. The main course of this look. The Winter White Jacket.
    4. While you are keeping warm, a dash of flamboyance is just right with this T-shirt.
    5. These stovepipe denims wrap it up pretty darn well.
You can pretty much wear sandals or flats with this outfit or even pumps, but make sure they aren't too loud to where it throws off the outfit completely off. The eye catcher is the jacket itself. You don't want all the attention going to your feet. Remember, everything else should compliment the jacket.

    - Gentleman Tip of the Day -
Askmen.com's new layout is pretty impressive yet straight to the point. What they have pretty much done is they the top five short articles that concentrate on only one part of a man's life. Each day and a different part of a man's world is discussed. Today was all about your skin. How to keep your skin clean and look youthful. What things to avoid and which anti-aging products to purchase. You get the hint. Here are top 10 habits to keep in order to make and or keep your appearance more attractive.

    1. Gentleman, this is the number one and possibly the most important of them all. Exercising should be non-negotiable. There should never be a single excuse for you not to be working out. It doesn't mean hit the gym every single day as much as you can. It means doing nothing at all is going to be your downfall at the end. I work out 4 days a week, it changes as the seasons change, and I feel sick to my stomach when I miss a single day. Make this a priority! Strict discipline makes the body and blood flow in an harmonious fashion.
    2. This is an obvious one. Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. It also depends on the stress of workout during the day. If you play sports for a living, for example, you should make drinking more than just 8. I always keep a 20/24 oz bottle of water next to me at all times. If I'm not drinking water, it's either fresh fruit juice or a sports drink like Gatorade.
    3. Guys, I cannot stress more about this. That whole "I'll sleep when I'm dead" attitude will get you closer to death than you like to think. You need an average of about 8 hours of sleep each night or day. Your body needs that rest! It's like recharging the battery on your cell phone. You have to get at least 7 to 9 hours of sleep. When you have the chance to stay in and sleep rather than going out to some club, take the one that is good for your body! Stay healthy.
    4. Avoid sugar and simple carbs. This is basically telling you to lay off the junk food. Lean more towards vegetables. My daily meal routine always has at least one side dish of strictly veggies. I feel upset when there isn't any type of vegetables that sit aside my meat and or grain. You have to keep those proportions balanced.
    5. Keeping that face clean and attractive. Using face wash better be a regular thing for you in the morning. Moisturize afterward, then lay on the eye care creams, and use lip balm every morning. This is basic stuff so you better be on top of that. No excuses.
    6. Shave after you shower. Not before. It helps out the pores a lot when you take a warm shower. When I say warm, I don't mean scolding hot! You need it up to a point where it's 65% hot and 35% cold. The skin is at it's smoothest and breathing after you take a shower. It'll make your shaving an easier experience.
    7. Visit your barber every 3 to 6 weeks. You have to keep a clean look so keeping your hair trimmed is very important. The goal here is to look polished, no matter what field of work you find yourself in. The consistency needs to be there so it shows that in your character you have consistency in your work as well.
    8. Floss your teeth and whiten your teeth every six months. Flossing should be an everyday thing, nothing new there. Gentleman, your smile makes a huge impact even if you do not realize it. When those whites are exposed, it pretty much says, "Welcome in, how may I help you?" You want people to be drawn to you and feel comfortable. A charm is nothing if you don't have at least a descent smile.
    9. Do not forget to shampoo. Some of us take two showers a day, which means your hair will be exposed to more water. The important factor here is never shampoo more than once a day. Your natural oils that are located on your head need to release. Just as the rest of your skin, the natural oils need to be released or may cause horrible scalp stories. And don't forget your conditioner!
    10. Change the bedsheets. What you may not realize is that those natural oils I talked about actually release right onto your sheets. Your pillow is the number one place for that. Those oils from your hair are transfered to your pillow. When you decide to lay on your side and the side of your face touches your pillow that oil is then transfered right onto your face. This of course leads to pimples, acne, and so on. It's that clogging grime that you do not want! Try to change your sheets at least once a week!
Keep these 10 in mind to have an overall pleasant appearance. Keep yourself polished and the rest will follow. Get into these habits beginning from the moment you wake up the next morning.

This week, which is coming to a close, has been amazing. A certain someone is back in my life - she sort of started the whole chain of positivity. The week started off nice and it just got better and better. I, finally, purchased my new laptop. This means no more damn head aches and I can finally do my work in peace and without interruption. Not only that, my network just expanded to a higher level. I'm talking about prospect clients in the local celebrities circle. Regardless the status, my personal styling and image consulting is going to reach the masses at a later stage. I am psyched and I honestly cannot hold back the excitement.
I just hope this chain of positive comings continue and makes me walk the path to achieve all the goals I have stored for a while. By the way, my hero of the month: Donald Francis Draper (Jon Hamm) for all the wrong reasons. (laughs)

There are certain must buys to add to your closet. The past couple of posts I've shown you the seductive red dresses and other shorter hemline dresses you can still strut in. Another must have is the velvet going out dress. But it just doesn't stop at the dresses. It goes onto your shoes and even onto bags. A few items you can pick up on and let your ideas do the fitting:
    A Red Ruched-Sleeve velvet dress

    Penny Skirt with Velvet Bow
    Velvet Tuxedo Jacket
    Pumpkin Velvet bag
    Jewel-Encrusted Heels

Fellas, last time around I gave the ladies some dos and don'ts and now it's you turn. The colder months have kicked into 4th gear which means we need to concentrate on our grooming a little bit more. Here are some important points to keep in mind everyday and all day.
    • DO make sure your moisturizes have sunscreen. Just because the sun tends to hide in the winter does not mean the rays aren't still hitting you. A moisturizer with an SPF of 15 will be good enough; try keeping this pace for all 4 seasons not just winter.
    • DON'T take long hot showers. The obvious here is your pores open to the fullest and releases all those much needed natural oils. When they do, it means you just gave a welcoming invite to the cold to make your skin crack and dry up. Do not spend more than 10 minutes showering and or shaving.
    • DO apply hand cream often. The lack of moisture on your knuckles can do some unwanted damage. If you do not apply this frequently, you are bettering the chance of skin breakage and bleeding.
    • DON'T lick your lips. Invest in lip balm. This should be a given.
    • DO use a humidifier or even a bowl of water. It's important to have this next to your bed to muster up some moisture. It prevents the cold from creating scratchy skin.
    • DON'T exfoliate as often. Your skin is clearly the weakest during the winter so tone it down to exfoliating once instead of twice during your regular routine.
Stay clean, gentleman. Make sure your skin is at its best even when battling the harsh winter months.

Askmen.com are having their annual voting for the Top 99 Most Desirable Women 2011 Edition. I have casted my votes and I felt like I should share it with the rest of you. Here is my top 10 nominees.
    1. Sofia Vergara - I've always been a fan of hers ever since she came into the spotlight. Now, she's pretty much a household name after the hit show Modern Family. Not only is she possibly the hottest mother celebrity out there, she is brilliant in her comedic role. For all that don't know...her accent on the show is highly exaggerated; it's for comedic purposes. Her authentic accent isn't has thick.
    2. Emmanuelle Chriqui - She topped the list last year at #1 and it just fits that she slightly slides down from the top spot. She is still my ideal "marriage material".
    3. Irina Shayk - My favorite supermodel and has gone down on my top 5 super models of all time. This Russian beauty really does not have the conventional Russian features. She is truly an exotic beauty.
    4. Penelope Cruz
    5. Marion Cotillard
    6. Katrina Kaif
    7. Monica Bellucci
    8. Angelina Jolie
    9. Beyonce
    10. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
There are many other nominees on the list in three different categories: 1. Models & Athletes
    2. Actresses
    3. Singers
Even though my number one weakness happens to be classically beautiful women, the women on this list makes my blood temperature rise to a whole different level. This year around, Sofia tops the list mainly because before that role in Modern Family, she was simply a sexy Latina. Now, her talent in acting isn't too bad. How sexy is that? Seriously. One of the sexiest celebrities has comedic timing. If that isn't desirable, most of you men might want to rethink your whole idea of what is sexy. I know that the term 'sexy' is an ambiguous one, but you have to admit she has to be on the top 10 of many people's list. Sofia Vergara was already known in North America (and South America) but now, she has an entire world to be exposed to. Take it from me, living on the other side of the world, she's becoming very popular with celebrities and the general public all together.
    Raspberry Gelato
Honorable Mention: My Raspberry Gelato - She's not famous yet; although, give her a few years I'm sure she'll top my list. Yes, she is a real person. I'm just keeping her real identity disclosed simply because it's not the time to expose her completely to the public just yet.

Shearling all over. Seems like the women of stardom are sporting from shearling jackets, coats, and boots. From the affordable to the high price tags of the more well known designers. It is a definite look for these colder months for you ladies.
    Bonded Waterfall Jacket $40 (USD)
Black Shearling Flying Jacket $540 (USD)
Amore Shearling Trim Boots, around $150 (USD)
Remember, only one item of shearling is enough. You go one over and you are over-doing it. Work the rest of your outfit around the shearling clothes or boots. These are only a small taste of all the wonderful shearling items out there right now so if you haven't already get your tush down to those stores.

    - Gentleman Tip of the Day -
"I just had no interest at all. And then it was, like, anything that makes me feel good I wanted more of. Taking care of myself makes me feel good." - Marc Jacobs
    Marc Jacobs
The words from one of the fashion geniuses that should be taken to full effect. The rest of the article that I read introduces anyone to his grooming habits. Every part of the grooming goes into some quality time and effort. One thing to remember though, Mr. Jacobs is 47 so most of his grooming will taker longer than younger men. With a couple of exceptions, the rules apply to all gentleman who truly know how to take care of themselves. The procedures taken from Marc Jacobs (Marc Jacobs on Details click the link to read the entire article):

    • Hair - Shampoos and conditions with Philip B products. And slicks his hair back with hair-cream (similar to what I use) from Rene Furterer. Some men need to shampoo everyday because of their health regarding their roots and hair. Some men...are some men, not all. Therefore, you shouldn't be shampooing everyday or you will ruin your hair completely. The natural oils on your head need to be released so wetting your hair is fine for the day - without the shampoo.
    • Face - He uses face wash and toner from Joëlle Ciocco Lotion Lactee, under eye-cream (Dr. Brandt Time Arrest Eye Serum), serum (Dr. Brandt Time Arrest Face Fluid), and moisturizer (Joëlle Ciocco Creme Riche). The main focus here is that you should be using face-wash for men. It should never be skipped. Twice a day (morning and in the evening) should be enough.
    • Teeth - He gets his teeth whitened once a year from his own dentist. Guys, a smile is very important, especially when you are in the field of always talking and meeting people. Regardless the occasion, try to keep your teeth healthy and bright. I brush after every meal and when I'm not home I always keep chewing gum that fights plaque.
    • Body - The same moisturizer he uses for his face is the same for his body. No matter the color of your skin, your skin will crack and you always want to avoid the ashy elbows and knees. He also trims his body hair (chest and all) with the Philips Norelco beard trimmer with the adjustable blade removed. There are body trimmers out there as well but this works fine. Personally, I take care of the shaving of my armpits and chest. You want to keep those places that can build up plenty of sweat clean and smooth. And gentleman, there is nothing wrong with clearing out the crotch zone.
    • Fragrance - Unfortunately, Marc Jacobs is a smoker. That is why he came up with the idea of his new fragrance, Bang. You can use your Axe or other body spray but when it is work time or you are off to a special (and casual) occasion, you must always remember to have your signature fragrance.
Gentleman, he is one of the top designers out there so taking these words into consideration is a huge "must do". Stay fresh, stay cool.
