I have seen most of my friends complain about the recent weather. Is it really too cold? I, personally, love the cold weather. For a fashion aficiando like me, it's just divine. All those different articles of clothing and the layering. Need I say more? This is when all that chic strut comes center-stage. I believe when you live in a tropical climate in 9 months out of the 12 you tend to lean towards the cold weather near the end.
Growing up in Southern California was wonderful and perfect. In my opinion, California has the best weather in the world. Even then, I always preferred the winter. It's still my favorite season. Maybe it's because I was born in February has something to do with it? Regardless, winter seems to have arrived earlier than expected. My heart does go out to those who are travelling around this time. The snow is so bad (just as the temperature) there are various delays in places like Europe. On the other hand, I couldn't be happier (especially that special person is back in my life again). You know who you are. The lack of travelling for me and the time for more fashion makes me appreciate the winter even more.
Enjoy the cold, people, while it lasts. And of course, stay stylish.

The so many dos and don'ts. I think most of us tend to forget the basics at times. We get so caught up with the world we live in that we over look the obvious. There are some dos and don'ts to keep in mind next time you dawn that gorgeous outfit to show the world you have arrived this season. Plucked from some female celebrities (Glamour), these should be crossed off on your check-list:

Gentleman, let me introduce you to the world of bags. It's no longer just a woman's realm. There are different types that you must get familiar with, if you haven't already. Remember just like any accessory, you must carry a certain bag given it's occasion.

- DO keep your make up light and your face fresh and keep your hair style simple. In other words, let your clothes do all the talking.
- DO smile. Not as in show those pearly whites. The type of smile that keeps the elegance and class at the same time giving a faint hint of naughtiness when you smirk.
- DO keep the florals, they still work.
- DON'T put your summer dresses in the back of the closet just yet because just like those florals, it's still accepted.
- DO lean on subtle hues and make a statement with that eye liner. Blush pinks and understated beiges work very well for that evening out.
- DO rock the daring high hemlines. But of course, don't forget the leggings. It's cold out there and you aren't crazy.
- DO go with the powerful red in a lipstick with a black dress. Once again, the make up should be light to have the lipstick's effect be powerful.
- DON'T think you have to have a celebrity's budget to look like them. Emma Roberts was looking adorable in a dress from Kate Moss' collection for Topshop.
- DO invest in some black laced dresses and tops. They are all over the place this season. In a way, you can pull off the goth look without looking morbid.
It's easy to follow, ladies, and there are plenty of more dos and don'ts just stick to these for now as a good starter for this winter.

Gentleman, let me introduce you to the world of bags. It's no longer just a woman's realm. There are different types that you must get familiar with, if you haven't already. Remember just like any accessory, you must carry a certain bag given it's occasion.
- Briefcase - We all know what this is. It's not complex and not too hard to understand what these are used for. We've grown up watching or dads or other older men carry them around. Carry with: Business attire.
- Messenger bag - It's origins are obvious, they were simply made for messengers. Going from building to building, the messages or packages were delivered. Nowadays, we can carry them around in the most casual manner as a stylish accessory. Carry with: Street chic clothes.
- Holdall - This is mainly for those weekend travel arrangements. Its design inspiration comes form the duffel bag. It's a stylish version of those bulky and heavy luggage. Carry with: Casual weekend wear and business-casual wear.
- Camera bag - This will not question your manhood. Don't even think twice about it. It's meant to be strapped across the shoulders. It serves a purpose more than just carrying around your camera. You can keep your personal belongings to wherever you go. Carry with: Leisure wear.
- Tote bag - This is the modern approach to the classic briefcase. It has the professional yet non stuck-up look. The chocolate brown or black goes fantastic with what you are wearing and adds that manly touch to it. Carry with: Business casual clothes.
- Newsboy bag - This has become synonymous with men's casual wear. It's very similar to the messenger bag but it usually has a traditional rough canvas exterior. The style is to show that it's a lot less formal than the designs of a messenger bag. This is usually perfect for a student on campus. Carry with: Campus-chic wear.
There's something for every man on this topic. Do not shy away from carrying a bag around. It's not only stylish but for obvious reasons, it's functional more than anything else regarding a bag.
