  • Award Season

    6:40 PM

It's nearly time for those blockbuster award events. In some countries, they are already under way - the Indian film industry. What I love most about the awards season is simply the red carpets graced with beautiful celebrities in knockout outfits.
The Oscars will be taking place soon as the nominees make their last bid to make the cut. I have been a huge film buff since I can remember. I have seen thousands of films in all different genres and languages. I have my favorites and I have my dislikes. This time around, after appreciating what goes into film making, I will be concentrating more on the red carpet a bit. It's going to be me picking out certain details of the best and the worst dressed. Actually, I hate being negative so I'll be choosing out what the celebrities have done right rather than wrong. Film is also a huge part of my life, more than music. There is something about the cinema that sweeps us away for an hour and forty-five minutes to a complete fantasy land. We lose ourselves in the characters and wonder how it would have felt to live that story.
Those effects are from well made films, of course. That's the beauty of it. Going to the theaters is your chance to escape. Forget about all the stress for about a couple of hours that lie outside of the crowded cinemas.

    ~ Ladies First ~
During the winter season you can still look stylish even when you do not feel like going all out. There is a way to still look attractive by staying casual. Here are some "DOs & DON'Ts" that will keep you away from making a fuss about going casual instead (given the circumstance, of course). You can read or view the rest of this on glamourmagazine.com

-Do stick to fashion basics. Here is Mena Suvari sporting her black jeans with a lace top at The Cape premiere.
-Don't rock a great black dress with out considering the hair. I'm a huge fan of Jessica Szohr, but I have to agree with the people at Glamour on this one. Great dress but with crumpled locks!
-Do make my jaw drop like actress Emmy Rossum! Nudes, peaches, and blush pinks that hug your body like the sunkissed brunette Emmy is a huge plus! She had it to the "t" from head to toe. Gorgeous!
-Do give it some extra effort, learn how to work the bohemian. Nicole Richie had the 70s style going on in this one - long boots, furry jacket, what a way to go shopping.
-Don't think you can't wear white. Especially if you are of, well, pale complexion you can still make it work as long as you keep little details in tact. Sport it like Kirsten Dunst, go for rosy cheeks, red nails , and contrasting accessories like her black shoes.
There are plenty of dos and don'ts on the site but these made my major points list for today's post. Embrace the style, ladies. There is nothing wrong with the casual look, as long as you know you can stay warm.

    - Gentleman Tip of the Day -
There is a difference between a "bad boy" and a complete a**hole. You ever sat there and thought to yourself, "Why do women like bad boys?" The bad boys you are thinking of is not the same that the women are seeing. There is a slight arrogance that turns women on. It's not about insulting another person. It's about making a clever comment if someone insults you. Your intelligence has a lot to do with the "bad boy" behavior. A man who is perfectly aware of what goes around him can act aloof about how attractive the women sitting next to him is. It's about a man who can bend the rules and in some cases, break them. The devil may care attitude is that initial signal that is sent to all those women out there that love bad boys. Now, you can act like a bad boy and bag that woman you been wanting to get with, but know that it's not going to last long. Women who don't search for bad boys are the ones who want to settle down. These women want a husband - a responsible gentleman. If you are into just dating, then don't be afraid to flirt with the bad boy in you. Remember, there is a balance in being bad. 75% of the time it's all an act. Sell your role like you want to win an Academy award. Be cocky funny not stupid funny. Be naughty not disgusting.
Let me make clear this is, after all, The Confessions of a Gentleman. The confession here is I can be a bad boy too while keeping the reputation of the ultimate gentleman. How? Ask my ex-girlfriends of how naughty I can be in the bedroom. Yes, that's one way to be bad. (haha)
