Another one of those items you have to check off your list, the turtleneck. I'm sure the turtleneck (or roll neck) knitwear isn't foreign to you, gentlemen. It's that perfect layering piece for the colder months. Some are thicker than others but the fantastic thing about it is they all come in the staple autumn colors. The layering doesn't stop there, though. It's easy to compliment your turtleneck with the right blazer or overcoat. And so many other accessories you can use for the entire outfit like scarves and gloves will make the look a straight chic winner. The importance of simplicity is key here. You can work your entire outfit around a solid colored turtleneck sweater.

John Smedley Belvoir roll neck sweater
J.Crew - Bayswater Peacoat
J.Crew - Ludlow wool suit trousers
Mark McNairy suede derby buck
Black Fleece classic tote
Jil Sander ribbed wool-blend beanie
Persol - Steve McQueen folding sunglasses
Key note: The shoes in this outfit is a great way to keep the suede look without it being harmed by puddles or other wet areas because of the rubber soles. For this season, try and purchase shoes (in whichever make - leather or suede etc.) that have rubber soles. The new trend this season are the colorful rubber soles made by almost every well known shoe brand so it won't be too difficult to find them; although, the styling part maybe a tad tricky for those who like to keep things safe.
Keep it stylish, gentlemen.

The Outfit 42.1

I couldn't help myself but to continue and branch off of my 'Inspiration Series' from my last post (click here for: The Outfit 42). Just a quick update for those of you who haven't viewed #42, it was inspired by the love of my life; the only woman on this planet that has the power to tie me down. Why she isn't using that power is beyond me. She's had so many looks in the past that just went unnoticed by me, go figure. I guess, somehow, she always finds a way to make me fall in love with her all over again. And one of the best ways to do that, get my style juices flowing and hello fashion.
This look is something out of Southern Italy (Sicilian) on a retro weekend with a carefree attitude.

Dolce & Gabbana silk and virgin wool knit vest
Rag & Bone - Charlot cropped pants
Talullah - natural python gladiator sandals
Salvatore Ferragamo floral-print silk scarf
Gucci - Sukey metallic continental wallet
Mulberry - Secret Love double wrap bracelet
Use that beautiful scarf as a head scarf. Tie it as a head band where the knot is at the nape of your neck and the ends are hanging freely. Now, you are good to go, ladies. Keep it stylish.

The Outfit 42

A special edition from the 'Inspiration Series'. For the longest time, as a stylist, not once did I recognize how chic the woman I am madly in love with really is. I believe her natural beauty blinded me from everything else, until recently. Looking back and into the most recent pictures, her outfits stood out...finally! It hit me. My God this woman is seriously chic. It's no secret that for me, be it a woman or man, simplicity has always been the major factor to obtain the 3S Effect. Confidence is a given. As for the aesthetics, the greatest way to maintain the elegance is to keep things simple. I've admired the simplicity in this special young lady. She's reserved yet chic, with fantastic fair skin, dark eyes, long beautiful hair, and a smile so adorable it can light up a room. She inspires me one way or another every single day, but I have never had the courage to style her and pick out an outfit that would look best on her. I've always thought that was tampering with perfection. It's no wonder why she makes my heart skip a beat. She's my world...and a bit more.

Gentlemen's Sartorial 8

The importance of a bag is well known in the work place. Even on a short weekend trip, the selection of a quality bag will save you plenty of stress and earn you major style points. I would love to sport messenger bags from here to there, but the truth is I never find a legitimate reason to bring one. That is possibly one thing missing from my wardrobe. Well, for a stylist (at least for me), the wardrobe is never really complete. Although, gentlemen, I know plenty of you have to carry a few essentials (like a laptop) to places like work. Here are over a dozen different bags that are definitely a style winner and also very functional.

Gucci large leather messenger
A.P.C. suede messenger
Bottega Veneta intrecciato woven messenger
Paul Smith bhaltair leather aged backpack
Paul Smith leather backpack
Cherchbi tweed and leather backpack
Marc by Marc Jacobs perforated leather wash bag
Gucci monogram wash bag
Brioni classic leather wash bag
Maison Martin Margiela large leather weekend bag
WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie O'Hare tote
Burberry canvas tote
Yves Saint Laurent leather weekend bag
Bottega Veneta leather weekend bag
Simon Spurr leather travel bag
Remember, gentlemen, no one is asking or telling you to purchase these items being shown. These should serve as reference points. Which ever suits your budget, then go for it - look for similar styles and quality. Again, it's never about the labels, it's how you wear or carry the item.
