    Fall Forward

    12:13 AM

I wanted to keep the Autumn/Winter preparation going. I've chosen some of my favorites from the coats section of a man's wardrobe. When you think of trench coats, I hope, you think of Burberry. But trench coats, over coats, and pea coats go beyond Burberry. I won't lie, in my personal opinion, Burberry (Thomas Burberry, in 1901, the originator of the gaberdine fabric trench coat) does it the best. Christopher Bailey (Chief Creative Officer of Burberry) let it be known, in a short video on MRPORTER.com, how he likes to wear his trench coats; he wears the coats open with the belt tied behind him. There aren't really too many ways you can actually wear a coat. Once it's on you, it just adds a little touch of class even if you are wearing it over a regular t-shirt. How to keep it stylish always depends on the style of the coat and its fabrics. We won't get into that now, but I will share with you all are some beautiful trench, pea, and over coats from Burberry and others.

Just as you would fit yourself properly in a suit jacket or blazer, you would do the same here except for the obvious - fit into a coat a size larger than your suit jacket or blazer. This would mostly apply to over coats and particular trench coats. Remember, the cool thing about pea coats and trench coats, specifically, is that you can wear them dressed-down or dressed-up. As long as the weather calls for it, don't be shy to get different styles of coats for different occasions in both casual and formal. Another note, gentlemen, all the items you see here (like any other post) are samples of fashion that are in trend. This doesn't mean you have to go out of your way to hurt your wallet to get the right coat. Sure, quality is very important, but it has never been about the labels. If you have the currency, then go ahead and do what you have to do. For the other gentlemen that wish to make an investment, make sure the fit is right and try picturing using that specific coat with different outfits, regardless of how much it shows on the price tag.

There are some pretty rad trenches and pea-coats on offer at Doja now. I got myself a gorgeous navy plaid (so Canadian, lol) pea-coat for Tk 2k. Haven't been to the gents' section, so not sure if it applies to menswear, but girls, there's a steal to be had!
